Algeria is a vast country. To the north, its Mediterranean coastline faces Europe at latitudes even higher than Sicily\u2019s; to the south, it stretches between Mali and Niger, reaching deep into sub-Saharan Africa. In between lies the immense Sahara Desert, dominating the landscape with its endless horizons.<\/p>\n

Starting from the capital, Algiers, and its white Casbah overlooking the Mediterranean, we will embark on a legendary road trip aboard 4×4 vehicles driven by local guides, following the iconic Trans-Saharan Highway from Gharda\u00efa to Tamanrasset.<\/p>\n

In the far south, we will discover Assekrem, known by the Tuareg as the \u201cEnd of the World,\u201d surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Hoggar Mountains. Here, at an altitude of 2,600 meters, we will spend a night in a mountain refuge and witness what is considered one of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises in the entire Sahara. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We could have flown over the Sahara, but instead we chose to cross it from north to south, fully embracing its immensity and endless shades. From Gharda\u00efa and the fascinating fortified villages of the M\u2019Zab Valley to the legendary Tamanrasset, the Sahara will be our constant companion for more than 1,300 kilometers, an unforgettable African adventure that will stay with us for years to come.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

TYPE OF TRIP<\/h2>\n
A 4×4 expedition with local drivers through a region still largely untouched by tourism, involving long days on the road across remote desert landscapes with limited infrastructure. Short hikes are included and require no special physical preparation.<\/p>\n

This itinerary takes place in isolated areas where unexpected situations and last-minute changes to the program may occur, including flat tires, roadblocks, or delays along the route.\n<\/p><\/div>\n
