A land of monks and smiles, Myanmar was one of the last Southeast Asian countries to open up to tourism after decades of isolation from the outside world. Even today, it has preserved its traditional soul, deeply rooted in the spirituality of Theravada Buddhism that permeates the country.<\/p>\n

Our journey begins in the former capital, Yangon, where we will admire the magnificent golden Shwedagon Pagoda glowing at sunset. From there, we will continue with a boat trip through the pagodas and floating gardens of Inle Lake. We will then explore the breathtaking temple complex of Bagan before arriving in Mandalay, Myanmar\u2019s second-largest city, along with the nearby historic towns.<\/p>\n

Still relatively untouched by mass tourism, Myanmar is a fascinating country inhabited by some of the warmest and most welcoming people in the world, a place where it truly feels as though time has stood still, offering an authentic immersion into the heart of Buddhist spirituality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A journey through a country currently marked by tensions linked to the ongoing civil conflict. Tourism remains extremely limited, and the itinerary may be subject to changes depending on the local situation.<\/p>\n

This trip includes several long overland transfers by car or minivan, as well as one domestic flight. No particularly demanding trekking is planned, with the exception of the 777 steps leading up to Mount Popa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
