After a stop at Wagah for the chaotic flag ceremony at the Pakistan-India border, we will depart from crowded Lahore\u2014one of the most beautiful and charismatic cities in Pakistan and all of Asia\u2014for a fantastic road trip. We will first travel along the historic Grand Trunk Road and through the Swat Valley, eventually merging onto the legendary Karakoram: it will be a memorable journey among the highest peaks on Earth, during which we will touch the sky at the base camp of the legendary Nanga Parbat, before sleeping in tents facing the snow-capped walls of Rakaposhi. Finally, we will reach the remote Khunjerab Pass, the highest border crossing in the world (4,634 m) between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d82679;\"><strong>KALASH UCHAL FESTIVAL Extension<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the great dreams for travelers who love people and traditions: the Kalash and the Uchal festival! After finishing the journey along the Karakoram, we will move to the Kalash valleys to get a close look at this ethnic group, with its customs and ancestral origins that remain mysterious. Layover and flight to Lahore, one of the main cities of Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>DAY 2: <\/b>Arrival in Lahore, immigration formalities, and meeting with our local driver for the first few kilometers on board our legendary hand-painted Bedford truck, decorated in the unique style of Pakistani vans and trucks. Transfer to the hotel, check-in, and visit to the Lahore Fort, also known as Shahi Qila citadel, and the massive Badshahi Mosque, completed in 1683 and the fifth largest in the world. Afternoon visit and relaxation in the Shalimar Gardens, built by the Great Mughal Shah Jahan in 1681\u2014a masterpiece of Mughal-style urban design and still a popular meeting point for Lahore&#8217;s youth. Stop along the way in Gujranwala, a well-known commercial hub for crops, leather production, and ceramics, and Jhelum, where it will be possible to bargain and shop in the chaotic Shandar Chowk bazaar.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Afternoon<\/b>: Visit to the impressive Rohtas Fort, built by the great Afghan king Sher Shah Suri, known for its massive defensive walls and several monumental gates\u2014an exceptional example of Muslim military architecture in Central and Southern Asia. Arrivo a Tato e partenza per il trekking di 7km<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio<\/b>: arrivo nel pomeriggio a Fairy Meadows, una spettacolare prateria a un\u2019altitudine di 3.300 m nella valle di Raikot, lambita dalle ultime propaggini del ghiacciaio Raikot, che ha origine dal Nanga Parbat e alimenta un ruscello che confluisce a valle nel\u00a0fiume Indo. Check-in in camping, luogo fatato circondato dalla fitta\u00a0foresta\u00a0alpina, in cui cavalli, cervi e qualche raro orso bruno trascorrono la loro felice esistenza ai piedi dell\u2019Himalaya<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: cena e serata nel camp a Fairy Meadows, con lo spettacolo del Nanga Parbat illuminato dalla luna<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 9: Campo base del Nanga Parbat<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: trekking verso il Beyal Camp. Una piacevole passeggiata di due ore attraverso verdissimi boschi e oltrepassando diversi ruscelli consentir\u00e0 di arrivare al\u00a0 punto panoramico del Beyal Camp a 3.667 m con una vista spettacolare sul vicino ghiacciaio Raikot e sul Nanga Parbat. Prosecuzione facoltativa verso il campo base del Nanga Parbat fino a 4.500 m. Qui la foresta da favola, lascia spazio a blocchi di ghiaccio e enormi massi, su di un sentiero sempre pi\u00f9 ripido e roccioso, sino a raggiungere il meraviglioso campo base del Nanga Parbat<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio<\/b>: pranzo al campo base del Nanga Parbat, sotto alle famigerate pareti della nona montagna pi\u00f9 alta della Terra (8.126 m), nonch\u00e9 una delle pi\u00f9 difficili da conquistare (\u00e8 conosciuta infatti dagli sherpa nepalesi come la \u00abMangiauomini\u00bb). Rientro a Fairy Meadows<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: cena e serata nel camp a Fairy Meadows, con lo spettacolo del Nanga Parbat illuminato dalla luna<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 10: Gilgit e Minapin<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: trekking in discesa verso Tato e prosecuzione in 4&#215;4 fino a Raikot Bridge, da cui riprender\u00e0 il viaggio a bordo del Bedford lungo la Karakorum Highway. Durante il tragitto, soste in diversi view point del Nanga Parbat e alla confluenza tra i fiumi Indo e Gilgit. Arrivo in tarda mattinata a Gilgit e pranzo<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio<\/b>: visita veloce della citt\u00e0 di Gilgit e prosecuzione per Minapin Nagar. Arrivo in serata e check-in in hotel<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: cena e notte a Minapin<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 11: Hapakun<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: partenza per il trekking verso i pascoli Hapakun, l&#8217;alpeggio estivo del villaggio di Minapin. La camminata, di circa 4 ore 1000mt dislivello positivo), solca bellissimi prati verdi con una magnifica vista dei picchi Rakaposhi e Diran e del ghiacciaio Minapin<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio<\/b>: arrivo al camp, e trekking (facoltativo e solo se le condizioni lo permetteranno) verso il meraviglioso campo base ai piedi del Rakaposhi, iconica vetta di 7.788 metri ma interamente ricoperta di neve. Rientro ai pascoli di Hapakun nel tardo pomeriggio<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: notte in tenda nel camp nei pascoli di Hapakun<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 12: Karimabad<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: trekking in discesa verso Minapin, e prosecuzione lungo la KKH verso Karimabad. Check-in in hotel e visita della citt\u00e0 di Karimabad, nota anche come Baltit, e capoluogo del\u00a0distretto di Hunza: a 2.500 m \u00e8 un punto di riferimento nel nord del Pakistan, ed \u00e8 nota in particolare per la sua Rocca di Baltit, un antico edificio fortificato che fino al 1945 ha ospitato il Mir di Hunza, e per l\u2019incantevole villaggio millenario di Altit, ristrutturato e abitato dalla popolazione locale<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio<\/b>:\u00a0 prosecuzione della visita della valle di Hunza e possibile (in relazione alle tempistiche e alle condizioni meteo) spostamento verso i campi terrazzati di Duiker, per uno dei tramonti pi\u00f9 spettacolari del viaggio, con vista che spazia sulla valle solcata dal fiume Hunza,. il Rakaposhi, il Golden Peak e il Batura Sar. Rientro a Karimabad<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: cena e serata a Karimabad<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 13: Gulmit, lago Attabad e Passu<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: visita di Karimabad, dei forti di Baltit e Altit e prosecuzione verso Gulmit. Sosta lungo il percorso per ammirare il lago di Attabad, formatosi in seguito a una frana il 4 Gennaio 2010, che ha bloccato il flusso di il\u00a0fiume Hunza\u00a0per cinque mesi provocando purtroppo la morte di 20 persone. Prosecuzione del viaggio, arrivo nella pittoresca Gulmit, colorata in primavera ed in autunno da molteplici alberi da frutto, e visita del Museo Culturale, ricco di reperti della regione<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio: <\/b>trekking pomeridiano per una visita del lago Borith fino al view point sul ghiacciaio Passu, con vista degli spettacolari \u00abconi di Passu\u00bb, e rientro a Gulmit senza aver tralasciato la visita del ponte sospeso di Hussaini, considerato uno tra i pi\u00f9 belli e\u00a0 pericolosi al mondo<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: cena a Gulmit<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 14: Passo di Khunjerab<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: partenza presto verso Sost, tipica cittadina frontiera con una strip di hotel e teahouse frequentate da camionisti pakistani e cinesi, cambiavalute e trafficanti di vario genere. Arrivo al passo di Khunjerab (4.600 m), spettacolare punto di frontiera tra Pakistan e Cina, nonch\u00e9 valico di frontiera pi\u00f9 alto del mondo<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio<\/b>: rientro a Gulmit, percorrendo a ritroso la Karakorum Highway, check-in in hotel nel tardo pomeriggio<\/p>\n<p><b>Sera<\/b>: cena e serata a Gulmit<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Day 15: Da Gulmit a Naran<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><b>Mattina<\/b>: partenza all\u2019alba per il rientro verso Naran attraversando il passo Babusar e la Kaghan Valley<\/p>\n<p><b>Pomeriggio: <\/b>prosecuzione verso sud percorrendo a ritroso la Karakorum Highway. Arrival and transfer to the hotel with a view of Tirich Mir, the highest mountain in the Hindu Kush range.
