THE THREE GUIANAS
A journey into one of the least explored and most captivating regions of South America, where the continent reveals a completely different rhythm and identity. The Three Guianas form a world apart: vast untouched Amazon rainforest, mighty rivers serving as natural highways, colonial capitals seemingly frozen in time, and an extraordinary cultural mosaic blending African, Asian, European, and Indigenous influences. From English-speaking Guyana to multicultural Suriname, and onward to French Guiana, a European enclave deep within the jungle, this itinerary crosses three remarkably distinct countries united by the immense presence of the Amazon. An expedition through remote frontiers shaped by scenic flights over endless rainforest, river crossings, historic penal colonies, indigenous communities, and the technological contrast of space centers emerging from the tropical wilderness.
EXTENSION TO BARBADOS, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago are far removed from the stereotypical image of Caribbean resort destinations or quick cruise stopovers. These are authentic island nations with strong, distinct identities, offering one of the most original and immersive ways to experience the Caribbean. Barbados captivates with its unique blend of Caribbean spirit and British heritage, combining spectacular beaches with a vibrant inland culture of villages, markets, and local traditions. Trinidad & Tobago, by contrast, reveals a wilder and more intense atmosphere: a fascinating fusion of African, Indian, and Creole influences, enriched by lush tropical landscapes, dense rainforests, and one of the most dynamic cultural and musical scenes in the Caribbean. This extension follows the BHS philosophy of travel: not rushed sightseeing, but genuine independent exploration through self-drive experiences, meaningful contact with local communities, and a deeper understanding of the places visited. More than simply seeing the islands, the journey is designed to truly experience them from within.

The BHS touch
The Three Guianas remain one of the last truly remote frontiers of South America: three countries, three languages, and three completely different systems connected by limited infrastructure and visited by very few travelers. Exploring this region independently requires time, flexibility, financial commitment, and a strong spirit of adaptation, which is exactly why experiencing it as a single continuous journey makes it so unique. The BHS approach is built around sharing this adventure as a close-knit community of like-minded travelers: curious, adaptable, and open to embracing uncertainty. Together, we navigate remote borders, local ferries, long transfers, and days that move according to the rhythm of the region rather than the clock. Crossing Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana in one uninterrupted itinerary means stepping far beyond conventional tourism and entering one of the most fascinating and least explored corners of the continent.
