ANGOLA

A former Portuguese colony, Angola experienced decades of a violent civil war that ended in the early 2000s. This African country, facing the Atlantic Ocean, has gradually opened up to international tourism in recent years, finally revealing its remarkable landscape diversity and its rich, varied culture. We will venture into the south of the country, between Baía dos Tigres, the mouth of the Cunene River, and the Namib Desert, coming into contact with the main ethnic groups inhabiting this corner of the African continent, to discover traditional ways of life and the most ancestral soul of Angola. At the end of the journey, we will visit Luanda, a city of striking contrasts, balancing its Portuguese colonial past—reflected in the decaying architecture of its historic districts—with the modernity of the imposing skyscrapers built in recent decades. To end on a high note: the Kalandula Falls!

The BHS touch

We will venture into still little-explored areas, camping several nights in tents for a daily encounter with the various tribes living in southern Angola, such as the Mucubal, Mumuila, Humbi, Mucahona, Himba, and others. A demanding journey through the most traditional soul of this corner of Africa, in pure BHS style!
