ANGOLA
A former Portuguese colony, Angola endured decades of civil war before the conflict came to an end in the early 2000s. In recent years, this vast Atlantic nation has gradually opened up to international tourism, revealing its extraordinary landscapes and rich cultural diversity. Our journey will take us deep into southern Angola, between Baía dos Tigres, the mouth of the Cunene River, and the Namib Desert, where we will meet some of the region’s main ethnic communities and discover traditional ways of life in one of the country’s most authentic and remote regions. At the end of the journey, we will visit Luanda, a city of striking contrasts, where traces of the Portuguese colonial past, still visible in the fading architecture of its historic districts, stand alongside the modern skyline that has transformed the capital in recent decades. And to end on a high note: the spectacular Kalandula Falls.
