SVALBARD
WINTER

Svalbard by road… or rather, by snow. A breathtaking self-drive snowmobile expedition accompanied by expert guides, designed to explore the northernmost inhabited lands on Earth. A true Arctic adventure through the most remote and untamed corners of the archipelago. From Longyearbyen, the “capital” of Svalbard, home to just over 2,000 inhabitants, we journey beneath the midnight sun across isolated valleys shaped by Arctic winds and immense glaciers. The expedition culminates in Pyramiden, the abandoned Soviet mining settlement where time seems to have stood still: among statues of Lenin, forgotten buildings, and the stories of former miners, we relive an extraordinary fragment of the USSR preserved in the High Arctic.

The BHS touch

This expedition is not for the faint-hearted. It unfolds across extreme, isolated, and largely uninhabited landscapes, where encounters with Arctic wildlife, including the iconic polar bear, are a genuine possibility. Our guides, backed by years of Arctic experience, constantly monitor the surroundings and are equipped, as required by local regulations, with safety equipment and rifles for wildlife protection.
