PAPUA NEW GUINEA
MOUNT HAGEN FESTIVAL and SOLOMON ISLANDS

One of the most remote places in the world, and one of the last geographical areas to have been explored. Deep within one of humanity’s most ancestral cultural realms, a multitude of tribes speak more than seven hundred different languages. Hundreds of small rural settlements lie within the impenetrable rainforest, with traditional lifestyles unchanged for thousands of years: PAPUA NEW GUINEA. We will experience an intense naturalistic journey, among a vast variety of reptiles, insects, plants, and over thirty species of Birds of Paradise, and we will have the privilege of meeting closely many of the most fascinating local communities, including the Huli, Asaro, and Skeleton tribes. Not only anthropology and nature, but also the country’s most important cultural event, the annual Mt. Hagen Festival, will give us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in this vibrant multitude of traditions, coming together in a single great dancing celebration.
