PAPUA NEW GUINEA
MOUNT HAGEN FESTIVAL and SOLOMON ISLANDS
One of the most remote regions on Earth, and among the last to be explored, PAPUA NEW GUINEA. preserves one of humanity’s most ancient cultural worlds. Hidden within its vast and impenetrable rainforests, hundreds of tribal communities continue to live according to traditions that have endured for thousands of years, while more than seven hundred languages are still spoken across the country. This extraordinary journey will lead us deep into a land where nature and anthropology intertwine: a realm of dense jungle, immense rivers, exotic reptiles, rare plants, and the spectacular Birds of Paradise. Along the way, we will have the privilege of meeting some of the country’s most fascinating peoples, including the Huli, Asaro, and Skeleton tribes, whose rituals and identities remain profoundly connected to ancestral beliefs. Beyond the wilderness and tribal encounters, the expedition culminates in one of the most important cultural celebrations in Oceania: the legendary Mount Hagen Festival. Here, dozens of tribes from all over Papua New Guinea gather in an explosion of colors, dances, songs, feathers, and body painting, creating an unforgettable celebration of identity and tradition unlike anywhere else in the world.
